ATV Waiver on Air France/KLM for Long-Stay E-Visa Holders
Great news for travelers heading to the United Kingdom via Air France or KLM!
Effective immediately, holders of valid long stay e-visas, such as Student or Work visas are no longer required to obtain an Airport Transit Visa (ATV) when connecting through Paris (CDG) or Amsterdam (AMS), provided that certain conditions are met.
This update is a major relief for travelers who have previously needed an additional transit visa just to pass through France or the Netherlands while en route to the UK.

Who Qualifies for the ATV Waiver?
Passengers are eligible for the waiver if they:
•     Hold a valid long-stay e-visa (e.g., UK Work or Student visa).
•     Can provide proof of immigration status, such as a share code.
•     Have a layover of less than 24 hours.
•     Are making only one stop in either Paris or Amsterdam.
If all these conditions are met, no additional Airport Transit Visa is required.

Important Note for Nigerian Travelers
Nigerian passengers traveling with visit visas (for tourism or short-term stays) still require an Airport Transit Visa (ATV) unless they also hold one of the following:
•     A valid U.S. visa or Permanent Residence,
•     A valid Canadian visa or PR
•     A valid Japanese visa or PR, or
•     A valid Schengen visa or PR.

Why This Matters
This policy simplifies travel and reduces costs for many visa holders, particularly students and professionals heading to the UK. It also makes Air France and KLM even more convenient options for connecting flights through Europe.

If you are traveling to the UK with a long-stay e-visa and your connection is through Paris or Amsterdam, you can now enjoy a smoother trip with no ATV required!
